Hey Mrs. Parker…

Hey Mrs. Parker…

This section is all about me, so chill out and take a minute to get to know me. I am a wife, mother, communications professional, volleyball coach and so much more. I’ve always had a passion for writing and the creative arts. I grew up in Jefferson City, Mo. and studied Broadcast Journalism at Florida A&M University (FAMU) in Tallahassee, Fl. I earned a full athletic scholarship to play volleyball at the university. I was pretty awesome! You can check the record books for my name.

I graduated with a degree in Broadcast Journalism and immediately went to work as a t.v. news producer. I worked at news stations in Tallahassee and Saginaw, Mich., before I made it to the Kansas City market. I produced news shows at two local stations before leaving the t.v. news business. I went back to school to pursue my Masters Degree in Public Administration. From there, I worked in various roles in city government.

I am on the leadership team at my local church and I spend quite a bit of my spare time serving in the ministry. When I’m not at church, I’m basically an Uber driver without the pay. I’m constantly driving my four girls to everything from volleyball practice to Girl Scouts. I still love to play and coach volleyball. I have been coaching youth volleyball teams since high school.

I love to have fun, laugh and create.
